Zing Biography
Zing currently performs a variety of Jazz Vocal hits and standards
from across the last century. We formed in 2006 as a trio playing Jazz
songs written by Jewish composers as well as songs from the American
songbook. The band's focus has gradually enlarged to feature an array
of Jazz vocal repertoire including updated Jazz Standards from across
the decades, Jewish Jazz, Yiddish Swing, Dinner Jazz, Popular songs
from World War II and an evening of Irving Berlin songs.
As well as performing at private parties, weddings and functions, the
band has become a favourite among Jewish Community organisations including
Limmud and the Leeds International Jewish Arts and Culture Festival.

and Yiddish songs and performed with several bands including She'Koyokh,

Laoise, who works for the Jewish Music Institute, formed Zing in 2006
to perform the music that lies on the intersection between Jazz and
Jewish music as well as all kinds of great Jazz vocal music.
